Quality first Program

High5 Daycare Agency participates in the Quality First program, which supports licensed child care programs by providing coaching and consultation by a Quality First Consultant, ongoing Professional Learning, self-reflection activities, and targeted support from a consultant to reach your established goals. In collaboration with the Quality First program consultant, our home visitor assists in defining goals and developing action steps to achieve the annual objectives. Goals are established by aligning with the provider's specific aims for running their daycare business or addressing challenges encountered in previous years to ensure the delivery of a high-quality childcare program.

Home visitor

The home visitor is a registered early childhood educator who plays a vital role in supporting and enhancing the quality of childcare provided in home-based settings. She visits every provider as an unannounced visit every month to ensure the rules and regulations set forth by the Childcare and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) are met. She follow the inspection checklist approved by Ministry guidelines on each visit. Tasked with ensuring the home visitor conducts thorough safety inspections, identifying and rectifying potential hazards to create a secure environment for children. Providing ongoing training and support, they serve as a valuable resource for home daycare providers, offering guidance on best practices in childcare, early childhood development, and health and safety protocols. Additionally, the home visitor monitors each child's development, offering insights into age-appropriate activities and interventions, facilitating communication with parents, and conducting regular meetings. During crises or challenging situations, the home visitor provides timely assistance and guidance by visiting the childcare providers and settling the child. By encouraging ongoing professional development and maintaining accurate records, the home visitor contributes significantly to the overall quality and safety of childcare in the home-based setting, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for the children and their families.

It is essential to provide children with a nurturing and secure environment, such as home, where your child can feel safe rather than in a classroom environment. One-on-one attention is highly beneficial in shaping one's personality. Small groups foster more interaction and create a strong bond that encourages confidence and promotes intelligence.

Licensed home care agencies provide the best safety and well-being for children due to the following benefits:
  • Professionally trained providers.
  • Unannounced visits to monitor compliance with CCEYA standards.
  • A limited number of children per house to ensure one-on-one attention.
  • Government standards for maintaining a license are adhered to, including fire escape plans, menu plans, space requirements, babyproofing, outdoor activity plans, and Ministry of Education visits.

First fill out our childcare application form on our website. The High5 Daycare Agency will then review your application to get a better understanding of your needs and your child’s. They will then discuss with you your preferences for a childcare provider. The Agency will then arrange for you to meet available providers in your area. Parents visit the providers’ homes at this stage to meet them and see if it’s a good fit. We recommend you bring your child along to these meetings. Ultimately the decision is made between the parents and the providers, not the Agency.
